"born beneath
the glow of a fat moon
at an altitude where one
can not breathe
writhing currents
found beauty so awesome
the last rays of evening sun left."
Since the age of 16 Eila Mahima Jaipaul has been trying to capture that beauty, one word at a time.
Born in Brooklyn to first generation immigrants from the fair Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Eila now lives in upstate New York with her family.
A graduate of Siena College with a BA in English and communications, Eila started her writing career as a network television news producer. She currently writes poetry (mostly in an erotic, sensual, narrative, prose-like form), is working on getting a chapbook published and paints glass to earn some kind of living in the mean time.
